It was reported in the press last week that a ‘secret snake’ has been revealed in a deteriorating portrait of Queen Elizabeth I.
The portrait is on display along with three others as part of ‘Concealed and Revealed: The Changing Faces of Elizabeth’, an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. According to the press release, two of the portraits have not been on show for several decades. The exhibition runs from March 13th until 26th September 2010 in room 2.
