On the 27th January, the Imperial Ambassadors were writing to the Emperor about \u2018the very troublous state\u2019 in London. (1) It was their opinion that the Queen was \u2018doing her best, but is unable to trust many of her subjects, most of whom are heretics\u2019 and that the real reason behind the rebellion was \u2018religion and to favour Elizabeth.\u2019 They also reported that the Tower was being stocked up and the artillery readied. Meanwhile Wyatt had seized artillery from some of the ships in the Thames. <\/p>\n
