Writing to the Emperor, the Spanish Ambassador reported that the Lady Elizabeth had set out for London and that he expected her to be taken to the Tower, ‘ where Jane of Suffolk was yesterday executed, whilst her husband, Guildford, suffered in public.’ (1)
