‘Making History: Antiquaries In Britain, 1707-2007’, is a new exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. It runs from September 15th to December 2nd 2007.
The display includes ‘a selection from the Society’s extraordinary collection of early English royal portraits from Henry VI to Mary Tudor (which) will be displayed together in public for the first time.’ (Royal Academy of Arts).
According to the Guardian, this includes a portrait of Queen Mary I by Hans Eworth.
(Please note that this is not the Hans Eworth portrait (from the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge) identified by Stephan Edwards as possibly being of Lady Jane Grey. See his website Some Grey Matter for more details.)
